Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 201 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

David's feelings in the upcoming chapters

I love the fact that Davide copper field always lends a helping hand when it is needed. he always tried to do what's right and hope to make everyone happy. The fact that him and Dora aren't going quite as great as I assumed them to turn out seems to be ironic but sometimes. .what's destined to be doesn't happen so easily.Dora has her downfalls where she acts very childish and can't even get simple house work right as a wife. Also, The fact that Dora has miscarried David's baby I believe will change their relationship very soon.

  1. I do believe David's choice in being with Dora was a bad and naive decision. However, it was a great lesson. It is unfortunate that Dora is so immature. Especially being that it is said females tend to mature quicker than males. I have such admiration for David at this point, he really tries to make the best of his relationship. He goes as far as changing his point of view of the situation and changing himself to keep his marriage. It is very much indeed tragic that Dora has miscarried the child. You can tell in context clues that Dora is depressed and weak from losing her little blossom. It is so tragic that David has to also go through knowing he wont have a child but also watching his love (Dora) die with each passing day being that he was trying his best to be optimistic.
