Welcome to the blog for Prof. John Talbird's English 201 class. The purpose of this site is two-fold: 1) to continue the conversations we start in class (or to start conversations BEFORE we get to class) and 2) to practice our writing/reading on a weekly basis in an informal forum.

Charity

So basically it starts off with a young gay man named Matty Quinn. When Matty met Harry , they were Americans living in Africa doing what they could to help sick people. Turns out Matty gets addicted to pain killers. I respect Harry for loving Matty for the who he is. He saw that he is filled with kindness for the people all around him. He saw that he wasn't helping out in hope of making a profit. I love that even though Matty is going through a difficult time with his addiction, Harry is still there for him and is willing to be there. Now that's what I call love between two people. A bond that cannot be broken and will always fight for one another.

  1. I did not have the chance to read this weeks reading yet but I do believe accepting someone completely for who they are is the right thing to do. From your post it seems like the story is a love story about getting through tough times positively
