I was surprised that this rendition of Copperfield didn't have any scenes from when David went to school. I was somewhat disappointed that they didn't show the scene where David see's the "He bites" sign and thinks there's a dog but finds out the sign is for him.
Overall I think that they portrayed the characters' personalities and appearances very well.
I also feel that the scene with David and his Aunt Betsy pouring salad dressing and vinegar is awkward. I guess she was probably trying to cleanse David's system lol
ReplyDeleteI also was a little shocked that there weren't any scenes of David going to school. I think it would've been useful in actually bing able to visual his school life. The movie did indeed portray the characters pretty well.

I see what you meant by that scene where Betsy poured salad dressing and vinegar down in David's throat. The same thing happen in the book on page 201 in the last paragraph, Betsy gave David aniseed water, anchovey sauce and salad dressing. I was disappointed with the fact that the part where David went to a broading school and met Steerforth was not in the movie. The movie did well with protraying the characters such as Betsy Trotwood and Mr. Dick.
